o3o what does Jack of All trades mean?
… In which Tumblr ate my reply. -_-; This is just what I think, though.
In the most basic sense, there are two types: a Specialist and a Jack of All Trades (aka a Generalist).
A specialist is really good at one thing but perhaps not so great at other things.
A Jack of All Trades is also called a Generalist, in which they can do a bit of everything but don’t really specialize in one thing.
For example, let’s say you have a specialist who is really, really good at drawing backgrounds, but can’t do the characters and is horrible at paneling. Then you have a generalist who can do backgrounds, characters, paneling, but not as good as the amazing person.
Or, like, at a design studio, when you have someone who is really good at web development to the point they can recreate a complex site from scratch, but not so good at design or video. Then you have someone who can design, do video, do basic web programming, but can’t recreate the complex website like the specialist can.
That’s how I see the definitions, anyway…
